There’s a bunch of videos on YouTube now separately comparing Batman Arkham Knight to Gotham Knights/Suicide Squad, and AC4: Black Flag to Skull and Bones.
There is absolutely a trend of brain drain in game development that no amount of contractors can fill now.
Funny enough I forgot that I dropped Hollow Knight at the final boss. A second stage that drops a whole new set of double damage attacks to learn to avoid was too much for me.

They have a constant and desperate effort to invent words they can’t define that categorize their blind rage since they’re not allowed to say one that starts with N. “Woke” is the newest one.
I’m reminded of so many fiction subplots where a character has acquired an extremely valuable XXX they want to sell.
More often than not, it’s such an important object that any interested parties would sooner hire mercenaries to get it, and kill its owner as a witness (and in many of those stories, exactly that happens). Past a certain value, many items are not actually valuable for common people.
A few times after sleeping well, I can actually wake up in the morning and get significant things done involving an outing for breakfast, and feel like I’m midway through my day at a time I’d usually be waking up. It’s hard to build up to that point though.
I still think most sites would struggle dealing with the stream of people continually uploading full episodes of copyrighted works, as well as finding a profitable revenue stream for all the bandwidth used. Even YouTube has a hard time with it.

This would likely miss you out on any movie where the actors promoting it tangentially said a word that someone believes is “woke”.
The TURBO STUPID crowd tends to brigade the user reviews on any movie of that kind.
There’s a lot of options out there for alternate mail apps, but what I really need is a decent calendar app. Don’t like always having to rely on web browsers for that.
I definitely think there’s room to invent some other social websites like Lemmy; things that can A) Monetize themselves in some way other than ads, B) Formulate the way users use them so that they’re resistant to bots, C) Promote well-thought discussion points instead of just regurgitation.
I’m seriously considering something like say, a site that requires users to record a short webcam video introducing themselves before they can post. Obviously, that wouldn’t be a good venue for anyone very privacy-focused, but perhaps you get the idea.
OK - now how do I forcibly inject that thought into the minds of the dozens of other people browsing Discord?
I think that’s been part of my issue - there’s a wealth of bad, or even just “ambivalent” actors, and not enough moderation in a lot of channels.
Plus, while stopping someone from hate speech feels like a clear action for moderation, berating them for things like posting memes in “general” can feel totalitarian. A lot of communities don’t commit to that kind of strictness.
Meme images use more vertical scroll space than text. If just a few people repost the same “neutral expression cat” image every so often, it pushes away genuine questions very frequently.
People tend to ignore dedicated-channel rules as well.
Imagine every time you see a person, he tells you you stink; but every time, also mildly suggests you take a shower.
What can you possibly do to make him happy?…………….
I’ve found it’s hard to get any Discord community together where chat messages are less than 60% reposted meme images. Someone will post an interesting thought, and then the next post is a single emote or a cat-related meme with a single word like “Udge”.
I once attempted to make a meme for Streisand effect victims, never quite caught on.
Lower court: “We find that since the man was found dead from dehydration, he must have been killed by the accused’s witchcraft that sucked his fluids!”
Higher court: Looking at a body covered in bruises from a long fall “I’m sorry, what…?”
This - I hate when gamers have too much attention on which games are bad, and none on the good games.
I have a page of Steam reviews where I give a thumbs up to a bunch of indie darlings, then a negative review to a live service game, and only the negative review has votes on it.
