  • Except… it looks like people did start posting. So the users were crowded out by bots before and they’re posting now. That just shows that Reddit isn’t dead, but it does have too many bots.

I mean, I’m sure many people here wish there was more non-bot content. It’s annoying to see something on Reddit and come back here and see the same thing.

    Wikipedia is one click away:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aral_Sea

Formerly the third-largest lake in the world with an area of 68,000 km2 (26,300 sq mi), the Aral Sea began shrinking in the 1960s after the rivers that fed it were diverted by Soviet irrigation projects. By 2007, it had declined to 10% of its original size

former United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called the shrinking of the Aral Sea “one of the planet’s worst environmental disasters”.

The Aral Sea region is heavily polluted, with consequent serious public health problems. UNESCO has added historical documents concerning the Aral Sea to its Memory of the World Register as a resource to study the environmental tragedy.

  • Software developers are so confusing. You have a physically easy job that pays well and makes people think you’re smart. That’s almost as good as it gets. “Capitalism” is shoveling investor money down your throats.

Software developers didn’t really exist in the USSR, but the computer scientists that did wanted to escape. Most software developers in the Third World now would love to get a huge First World salary. Recognize what you have.
