  • Yeah, I find straight up abandoning your shit family is a not completely bad idea.

You’d be surprised at the jobs out there that simply let you get on a train or a boat and simply leave it all behind if you want to.

Just please then don’t jump off the back of my boat. The point is that it might be lonelier than guaranteed family but ocean is a bad way to go.

  • Right but also people rarely expect constant 100% eye contact. The occasional glance to show connection is actually more than enough for basically everyone and can be learned to done pretty easily. Its not needed but even the simple glance of eye contact makes people feel way more seen and heard.
Then you can just talk past each other the rest of the time as is standard.

Yeah I can do this. And am not even 30 yet.

    Nope.
It would probably help if phone calls still really existed as a method of getting stuff done but the amount of places not bothering / having automated / foreign staff for their call centers makes them basically pointless and a completely different skill set compared to old school charisma and phone etiquette.

Patience and stubbornness to deal with the bullshit and still keep the effort applied will win.

Not some skill that feels nostalgic and forgotten like phone calls or cursive will save you from the onslaught of time.

  • I mean I had actually had a conversation a long while ago when I originally fell in love with Annapurna games about my perceived dangers of it being run almost single handedly by a billionaire playing around with her Dad’s money that the level of control she had would make it risky to treat like a legitimate company but they really put the gold star stamp of approval on so many games they made and published.

Honestly this won’t really hurt the billionaire. She has the publishing contracts still and whatever partial finished games were already in development but I really do hope the best for the actual talent and employees.

I really want to see them help push into that more united gaming labor force that the Henry Stickman developers foundation (Outersloth), and other groups are doing to let them actually help games be unique and good.

  • I have seen multiple accidents but the ones that stick with me is the truck that hit a sign and ejected the driver and passenger onto the highway were they were run over multiple times.
And one where a convertible hit a curb for a light rail flipped and smashed into a pole ejecting the passenger who lived but decapitated the driver still in the car.

Man I would agree that you should always wear your seatbelt because it’s probably safer in the heavy metal box but cars are just absolutely death traps waiting for a bad or distracted moment to kill you.

Pick a safe car. Tell people you love them and drive safe.

  • I wanted to take up percussion and was having a lot of fun with the schools xylophone and drum kits. I even signed up for band. Was told I needed to buy my own equipment but even though I had a job I was busy buying food for my household with the cash coming in.
I ended up asking my estranged father who did actually help out and buy a drum for me which my mother than turned around and sold for less than it was bought for and left me only the drum mat and a single pair of sticks.

Parents that support their children are such a blessing that I don’t think the kids who grow up in it fully comprehend it. And to end up entitled from being over supplied everything and not appreciating it doubly disappointing.

Look after, love and support your kids when they seem genuinely interested in something and they will have about as good of a head start as you can give them without adding in financial security.
