  • You’re correct it isn’t the reason, but it’s myopic when you consider all of the aspects that make an offense serviceable. Timing and anticipation require protection. You require more protection if you have slow receivers. We do not have that so Bryce waits for an opening instead of 100% of the time dumping it off to the check down. Further, if the scheme doesn’t match with the roster we have, power run players in a zone, poor route running or slow receivers in a hitch and Hank is a recipe for easy coverage for any DB. I understand we have some fast players, Strachan and Chark specifically, but Chark has questionable hands and route running for the offensive scheme we have him in. We’ve seen glimpses of good from Strachan but he’s still largely an unknown in our offense. You’re correct in the lack of pre-snap motions causing issues with predictability. That falls on Reich and Brown’s playbook and play calling.
