  • I remember feeling that same exact way when Jason Williams was shipped out for Bibby

I live in an NBA less city but am a Michigan fan and followed c-Webb. Then he got to Sacto and I fell in love w the entire org. Once Peja was playing above Corliss - I couldn’t get enough (and I’m still here decades later never having once canceled league pass)

So to say I was attached to that particular group of individuals would be an understatement.

But soon enough I was loving watching bibby with his pick and roll play and the step backs and everything he did great

(I’m against including monk in a trade as I think the kings like any hopefully contender needs a real spark off the bench like Monk but ilm just saying I know that feeling)

  • Debbie’s grief absolutely belonged in this episode

It’s the parallel between their journeys in their two sequences of wandering around wondering who they were after those events and finding ways to move forward

That’s not pacing. That’s storytelling f that doesn’t rely on action.

It’s even hammered home with the parallels to Donald figuring out who he is in the aftermath

One of my favorite parts of the episode.

  • What a gorgeous pair of sequences illustrating Nolan and Debbie’s feeling lost and wandering (separated in distance and length of wandering by millions of miles and they still tied the two together nicely especially Nolan’s)

The show has really taken a step forward this year. And of course most tv shows find more solid footing story-telling wise and character-wise in their second season (not all - most)

But with a show as high quality as Invincible? That’s a difficult task and they’ve done it marvelously.

And adding to previous comments in other episodes I’ve made / the murderers row casting continues. Rhea fucking Seehorn? Goddamn

  • The word cloud on comments in the non readers section must have “multiverse fatigue” down from dominating the entire cloud to not being visible at all.

I know it’s not their fault they don’t know the multiverse stuff is executed well which has been the primary issue with multiverse movies, not the concept itself.

It’s just weird. They read a talking point and can’t stop parroting it but ironically the same sites that made that term up made up “superhero fatigue” and I don’t hear the show watchers complaining about mark having superpowers

Anywho - love how the Donald stuff is playing out this iteration and again keeping Debbie involved noticing that; love that Eve is doing her thang here in the inner cities instead of going to Africa (I get why she did it but this works as well if not better and isn’t quite so white-saviory)

But holy shit that was the darkest ending ever to a subplot that starts with a playground being built.

I can’t remember did he have any thing like that happen while she was in Africa? I don’t think so but am not sure

  • I just about died with shape smith trying to pass himself off as human. “I swear on my 3-chambered heart! Please dont stab all 3 of them!”

I also always loved that despite being unprepared for anything the Martian still went to work at faux-NASA after he replaced the astronaut. Usually you do that when you’re trying to take over the place but as a blending tactic it seemed fraught with chances for failure

I could’ve sworn when the construction folk got mad at Eve in Chicago and the one said “hey this is Chicago” the next words would be “that’s union work!”

I remember one time at a trade show there decades ago I was chastised very strongly by a large union dude saying just that when he saw me plug in a power strip on the trade show floor.

Anywho - God this episode would’ve been better if not for my multiverse fatigue (kidding kidding)
