Not really. I just leave at the time needed to get to work on time for whatever mode I’m using. It’s about 8 miles, and before COVID it was usually quicker to cycle than sit in traffic. Now there’s less traffic so cycling takes a bit longer than car, but not much. Bus is about the same as cycling.
I’m 57 and not hugely fit, but I can cycle 8 miles each way without any problem. Takes 30-35 minutes depending on wind direction.
Keep you healthy too. I need to start using mine again.
We’ve got 1 car. If I need to go somewhere and the wife has it, I get the bus. It’s a lot cheaper than owning 2 cars.

This is the best way to do it because they will go further on the off chance that you are a prime scamming victim rather than someone winding them up. Hooked one for about 25 minutes once because I said the phone wasn’t next to the pc, so I had to keep shuffling between the two. Every time I came back from the pc, I gave the phone a whack on the table to make them jump.

It seems so distant now. To say that we learned nothing from the experience is not quite right. The people in charge learned that even brief glimpses of a better life have to be brutally stamped out to stop the drones getting uppity. Hence the push for return to office, abolition of LTNs, and the ridiculous histeria over 20MPH zones - anything that improves the lives of ordinary people must be stopped.
It started as a touching tribute to thank the people in the health service for their bravery and hard work. It then got jumped on by politicians and other arseholes as performative virtuousness, and eventually we had NIgel Farage smugly tapping his saucepan, at which point it became an insult.
