Have you tried to return them in store because even if things are bought online or from another state you can return to any store.

How is it toxic it’s the truth. If it bothers in them they should return it. Asking other people if they should return their shoe for minor and insignificant design flaws. I get it because if it was me and I was had expectations for something I would return it but I wouldn’t ask a community if I should return something or not because of something that bothers me.
