I think Pops approach to Wemby shows his approach to the season. He essentially admitted they have no plans on how to use him on the court yet because they want to see where he is best first. This means their offense is going to look clueless (and it does a lot of times) and it’s going to look like Wemby is misused (which it does sometimes)

But it’s going to pay dividends when the Spurs realize there are about 4 or 5 spots he is deadly from and they run their offense through those spots.

I think this came through in the Miami game with some of the Wemby assists. He’s a much better passer. Than I expected. Like he has the potential to be mini Jokic in the low and high post, making laser passes to shooters when their defenders cheat a little.

You find this stuff out by letting Wemby do whatever the fuck even if it means being inefficient on offense.
