Newly-minted Bucks fan here. The other day I was driving my car on the interstate freeway and didn’t realize I was on “4” instead of “D” on my shifter. I was wondering why my engine was struggling until I looked down and shifted it properly into drive.

So far this season, the Bucks remind me of this. They play down to the opposition instead of keeping it in Drive and stepping on their throats early and often. I mean, down by 26 at home to my Blazers, arguably the worst team in the league? It was seamless (and scary) how they just turned it up a notch and put the game away in the second half. The issue is that they shouldn’t have to wait to do that. Dame Time is a nice insurance policy but is not a great tactic to use in every game to bail us out.

We have Giannis, Dame, BroLo, Khris, Portis, Pat, etc…an embarrassment of riches. We will be just fine. Still, it would be nice see a thirstier, more ruthless Bucks team in the first half.

    Just my $0.02 worth 😉

  • Noice!! Thank you. So now y’all Bucks fans know the REAL meaning of Dame Time isn’t just those heroic long bombs ending playoff series and entire franchises.

Naw…Dame Time is whenever he is on the court.

Do you know why Dame Time is a thing? It’s because Portland has consistently been a mediocre team around him for the past decade. It’s because they needed him to bail them out of yet another jam at the end of a game, especially playoff games. Do you know that Dame has hit a game winner against every other team in the NBA during his career?

Now he’s legit playing with one of the world’s best basketball players and a terrific Bucks system that has recently won it all. Hopefully he won’t need to be the savior and hero anymore because we won’t need last second heroics to save the day.

But if we do…well, yeah. Tap that wrist. ⌚
