You probably wouldn’t like it, life there is completely different than here. Also, while many people can speak English, you won’t get far without speaking German or even better the austrian accent.

On Saturdays, most stores are closing at 5:00 PM and on Sundays, everything is closed, while everyone is spending time with their families or go hiking/skiing.

I never thought I would miss our Sundays so much.

Thank you also for your insight, no i am from Austria but have a few friends from Poland back home. I traveled a lot in the beginning in Canada and have now settled in a 60k town on the prairie, but I think that was a mistake. It’s a bit depressing here in winter, despite how beautiful the prairie was in the summer.

I know that winter hasn’t really started yet, the coldest it has been so far is -20.

I’m here because I’ve always wanted to explore North America and do something what’s way different than my usual daily routine.

Stepping far out of my comfort zone to personally grow.

I mean, I lived in the same small town for 25 years and used my vacation to travel to Croatia or Italy. Once I went to Sweden and Norway, which used to feel like a very big trip for me, but now it’s not longer a problem after i know the distances here in NA.
