I’m a Madrid fan but I never thought Pepe as that tough. Sometimes physical, occasionally unhinged, but he also flopped more than anyone on the team at the time but Di Maria. Not who I’d consider super tough.
I’ve always found it inexplicable that Nissan didn’t link the Armada to the Patrol once the Armada became Y62 based in 2017.
The Patrol is a legend and even in the Y62 gen, you see plenty of respectable comparison reviews with the Land Cruiser 200 series in international publications. The Armada…well you see its rep in this thread.
With the off road/overlanding segment exploding soon after its intro, it would have seemed natural. Ideally sell an edition with the Patrol bumpers and rear differential to take care of the Armadas comparative weaknesses.
Jokic’s shots on contested drives look like he’s just throwing the ball up while trying to draw a foul on gravity. But they’re money.
I like it, but as was pointed out in the comments of that article, using the max dimensions rather than the minimum dimensions is a miss.
Door width is the other big one. It isn’t useful to have space for something if you can’t get it in. This has become more of an issue as designers taper the rear of vans/suvs for aerodynamics and style. I looked at a new Sienna to potentially replace my Transit Connect and while in theory there was more volume inside (as its a longer vehicle), it appeared way less usable given the rear hatch shape and irregular dimensions. I’m now somewhat interested in the upcoming Santa Fe, basically just because how much the designers talked about maximizing rear opening size.
