I don’t know what Jake Haener is gonna do. Above commenter said our FO isn’t addressing the QB situation and I’m responding with how they did.
First, what does this have to do with Jayden Daniels?
Also, the saints do draft a QB every year. We missed on Ian Book and Jake Haener is learning the game. We went after and got Carr. So our front office is taking one every year and addressing our QB position.
I like your analysis. I love that you spread the blame because one singular fix will not change anything. But it does seem you can condense it down to play calling is not utilizing our strengths.
Carr needs to be in hurry up. Those two minute drills where we steam roll down the field, he looks so poised. Maybe he is thinking too much, or maybe the call is coming in too late. Pete has never been a playcaller until Sean left. He didn’t want to be OC this year. We need someone that can get calls out quicker.
Actually our easiest path is to rewrite the schedule where we play the Panthers the next 6 weeks
Hindsight is 20/20 with this. We knew what we had with Jamies and yes he didn’t have much to work with for receivers, he was still worse than mediocre. We needed to get a new QB.
Carr was the best option available. We were not getting Rogers as he was only going to be traded to an AFC team. We were not going to draft one of the top QBs. We could have tried to sign Minshew or any other back up QB, but even that is just throwing a dart at the wall and hoping they live up to their potential.
Carr was never going to light up scoreboards. We got him to get a game manager that can methodically move down the field and make solid, quick decisions. We signed him to the #15 QB contract. Just wanted middle of the pack play.
