I have a 430d and it drives completely different to the F32 430, feels way more connected & not at all numb or vague. If that’s how a non M model drives is I imagine the M340 drives like a true M car & even if it doesn’t it’ll feel much better than your F30

No it’s literally the same car just with a different engine & it handles a bit better? you could practically make a better version of the F80 by tuning your 340

M340i, going from a F30 340 to a F80 is going to be super underwhelming

I get 34.7mpg in London with my 430d & can still do a 5 second flat 0-60, I think the sound tradeoff is worth it just for that
