banjistBtoBooks@metacritics.zone•Bill Watterson and John Kascht's "The Mysteries" is a dark fable for the collapse aware.English1·2 years agoSure, I’m just pointing out that you were also just making assumptions that you’ll be fine under the status quo without thinking about the rest of humanity. Which is a privileged position. I mean, being able to sit on the internet and pontificate about any side of this debate is really a privileged position if we’re comparing ourselves with the state of the rest of humanity.
banjistBtoBooks@metacritics.zone•Bill Watterson and John Kascht's "The Mysteries" is a dark fable for the collapse aware.English1·2 years agoI mean, from another perspective wanting the system to just keep on keeping on while hundreds of millions are oppressed, murdered, deprived of necessities globally, and as the system hurtles us towards inevitable environmental catastrophe that will wreck everyone’s life as a result of the system, that’s also a fairly privileged position to hold.
banjistBtoBooks@metacritics.zone•What prose is so utterly beautiful that you had to stop, put the book down, and breathe?English1·2 years agoI don’t have the book handy, but there were a number of points during The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon where I had to stop to appreciate just how nicely constructed a sentence or paragraph was.

banjistBto NFL@nfl.community•Game Thread: San Francisco 49ers (7-3) at Seattle Seahawks (6-4)English1·2 years agoJust no injuries please. It’s Thursday and it’s at Seattle. I barely care if we win, just stay healthy.
banjistBto NFL@nfl.community•Game Thread: Washington Commanders (4-7) at Dallas Cowboys (7-3)English1·2 years agoHot take: The Cowboys are pretty good this year.
That said, I hope we get the opportunity to knock them out of the playoffs again this year.
I’ll take both the Chiefs and the Eagles looking beatable last night. Ravens are the sleeper terrifying AFC team this year.
banjistBtoSan Francisco 49ers@nfl.community•Why does it feel like Seahawks fans are nicer to us on /r/nfl than Eagles?English1·2 years agoPhilly fans are just awful, plus the hurt is more distant with the Seahawks.
banjistBtoSan Francisco 49ers@nfl.community•Game Thread: San Francisco 49ers (5-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2)English1·2 years agoPam is trashed, Kittle walking into the endzone. I like this game.
banjistBtoSan Francisco 49ers@nfl.community•Game Thread: San Francisco 49ers (5-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2)English1·2 years agoOffense needs to eat the rest of the quarter so Bosa can get right. A touchdown would be nice too.

banjistBtoSan Francisco 49ers@nfl.community•Brock Purdy is on pace to return Sunday.English1·2 years agoWish that was the attitude when I was in high school. Coaches had us do hitting drills, not tackling, just running at each other from fifteen yards apart. If somebody got their bell rung everybody including the coaches just cheered.
Guys we could easily be leading after this drive. Let’s save the doom and gloom for a little bit longer.
