  • Offense: Ran two quick slants to AJ in the first quarter and then abandoned it for the rest of the game. If Brian Johnson STILL doesn’t understand the importance of having a short passing game when facing a stout defense after 13 weeks then he won’t succeed as a coach in the NFL. Maybe Nick and Brian should spend more time studying how opposing offenses are neutralizing our pass rush (hint: it’s not by deep shots down the field). It’s week 13 and our offense looks exactly the same as it did week 1.

Defense: When the back 7 is comprised of 30+ y/o senior citizens and undrafted guys off the street, this is what you get. Maybe now this FO understands why you need to invest early round draft capital across all position groups, not JUST the dline.

  • Hi Dave! Do you think there’s more opportunities for this offense to improve by getting the ball to D’Andre Swift more, especially when he’s in space as opposed to just on delayed handoffs and RPO’s? We’ve seen glimpses of his play-making ability when we use him as a pass-catching option on screens or sweeps, but I’m surprised Brian and Nick aren’t designing other plays such as tosses, end-arounds, wheel routes, etc. for him.

Swift’s pass catching ability seems to be underutilized in our short passing game. Since opposing defenses how been sending additional coverage over AJ and sending more blitzes the past few weeks, we could use Swift more to open up our quick passing game so Jalen is able to get the ball out sooner, thoughts?

  • You know what’s a bigger risk? Losing the next game or two and setting ourselves up to having to play a must-win game at MetLife for the #1 seed in week 18, and in doing so, losing key player(s) to a season-ending injury because of that dog water shit field that’s already claimed two achillies injuries this season.

So my answer is no, you don’t rest the players now, still a lot of football left.
