Kill every mob, eat every food, breed all animals, get all potions, that kind of stuff…

So make sure it is turned off.

Just tested this out for you, I can start 1.20.1 with the vanilla launcher.

What I did is turning off my NIC. Maybe your (wireless) networkcard is still connected to the router or AP and it’s trying to get internet, so it will fail. Try again with all networking cards disabled.
