Something like $100/week for two draws. But it was like 6 years ago in Kentucky
I donated blood for many years, starting the first day I was allowed (mom took me). I’ve been an organ donor from the day I was able and am loud about that. And for a few months after college I sold plasma for money. It definitely felt scummy, but I think it’s ultimately a good thing, though it is selling part of your body to a for profit company at a rate that’s pretty bad. So the cons are really that it definitely feels seedier than whole blood donation and that the phlebotomists are worse. I can’t donate blood anymore because they gave me a track mark and I can’t risk my other elbow’s veinous access.
But it got me through a rough time
I went to high school with a girl who was I think #6 of 12. And yeah she was raised by siblings and raised siblings herself. It was actually somewhat similar to what my girlfriend experienced having a deadbeat mom and imprisoned dad.

Also just like don’t joke about such things if you aren’t prepared for people to take it as a hint
I once didn’t notice a topless woman sitting on me was flirting.
Wait shit that may have happened multiple times, though the second one I think realized he was a guy a few months later.
Chinese communism seems very much to be born of a fusion of USSR and Chinese imperial styles. But one important thing to remember about communist revolutions between 1918 and the 1990s is that the USSR played a major role in a lot of them. This is where you see such things as the betrayal in Catalonia and massive splits in western leftism as Marxist-Leninists and Maoists had backing and anarchists didn’t.
It’s an authoritarian thing. A lot of the rebels against the USSR were communists (most notably the red navy’s rebellion at Kronstadt). It’s a shame that communism has become synonymous to much of the world with the authoritarianism of some of its’ factions.
And as someone who’s done the small town bit I feel much more for her than you. I love cities, I didn’t think I would but once I fell for them I fell hard.
Different people like different places. I can’t live the life I want rurally without a lot of drives to cities. I know people in the boonies who would never move an inch closer to a city. Some folks are born in a place that ain’t right for them.
No they’re telling you to exercise because it’s necessary to maintain cardiovascular and muscular health as well as playing a role in endocrine regulation. Because it’s critical to a healthy lifestyle and it’s difficult to do.
The point of my comment was that there are elements of heath that are vital and associated with weight loss that are better separated from it because if you think of exercise as a “weight loss thing” instead of a “important element of a healthy lifestyle no matter your weight” you will be less healthy
The plus side is exercise does help regulate the endocrine system which can help you lose weight
Idk “I’d rather you exercise and focus on a more nutritious diet than focus on a number on a scale or your pants. Let’s focus on getting you healthy so we aren’t just trading one eating disorder for another” is both the original meaning of that concept and probably the best approach for a doctor to take
I wish I’d been able to do that. But she was still writing the script for my stimulants (continuation of care) so I just let her rant about adhd not being real because if I left I would’ve lost my job
A lot of that region’s religion seems to be the result of psychedelics and not the most gentle kind
Ok but Schmetterling doesn’t even sound worse. Just picture it in a not angry German accent
Because we’re a social species that often checks ourselves off of those around us. Sometimes it’s unhealthy, but often it’s an attempt to maintain tribe status and to safeguard against misperception.
Yeah part of the point of this is that it’s not a free speech zone unless you want a free speech instance. I prefer a more curated against bigots experience. Others don’t. Still others prefer other forms of curation. Federation means we can all talk to each other as long as we stay within boundaries of what others will stay federated with.
I wonder how long until the woman I met who is actively in the process of converting to Judaism gets labeled a rabid antisemite for her radical stand of “loudly proclaiming that she and many other Jews oppose the genocide against Palestine”.
