I remember that game winner from Bey against Golden State last year. After the game, Bey said something to the effect of… I think I was supposed to screen for Bojan but got the ball instead. Seemed like he was going off script on that play in favor of calling his own number. If it happened that time, I’m sure it happened others as well.
Cade might miss a few calls still but I generally think he avoids contact too much. Rather than initiating contact, he pump fakes and pivots a million times and gets off an awkward shot. It looks like his film is out and defenders no longer go for his fakes and just let him pump fake 5x while the defense swarms. His teammates don’t really have the ability to help him out and he tosses up a shitty midrange shot. Gotta think the coaching staff will point this out and they’ll adjust eventually but right now it just looks like the scouting reports have figured out how to marginalize his game.
We must build this team in the image of the Bad Boys and Goin to Work Pistons teams… that played in the NBA 20+ years ago under a completely different set of defensive rules. Makes for a great soundbite until you add on the end part.
I’ve been wondering if Ivey and Cade get along. Tried to watch this season if there is any interaction between them and haven’t really caught any. Last night when Cade came out in the first and Ivey came in for him, Cade went straight to the bench without the customary high five with the inbound player. Wondering if there is an issue between the two of them that might explain Ivey’s banishment.
League pass sounds like it’s better but again, I don’t live in MI anymore. It’s not without its own problems though. The amount of times it resets when they’re trying to serve ads is unacceptable and I’ve complained a million times. Hard to imagine the NBA is ok with this fan experience across the board.
