If your computer runs Windows, you need to install an ext4 filesystem driver to be able to read and write to the card after it was formatted in the Steam Deck.

Do you care about the battery life? Get the OLED.
Do you care about HDR, color reproduction, and black levels? Get the OLED.

Don’t care about either? LCD will be fine.

The bad news is if Valve wasn’t lying about this edition being strictly limited, then they are gone for good.

The good news is that Valve used this as a test to gauge consumer interest and economics of such models. As it sold out, this increases the chances that Valve will offer more case variants in the future.

If that doesn’t help, go to UEFI setup and keep this screen open until the battery runs out.

If that also doesn’t help, then contact Valve support to arrange RMA.

AMD re-released the 3600 in a boxed WoF configuration (100-100000031AWOF), that one dipped below $100 when on sale, and permanently in late 2022.

This is possible, but Valve has blacklisted the addresses of many parcel forwarding services. So you may have to try for a while until you find one that works.

1. For optimal charging speed, the power bank needs to support 15 V / 3 A output.
2. For being allowed to take it on an aircraft without additional paperwork, the limit is 100 Wh / 27,000 mAh.

The MangoHUD version shown in the performance overlay clearly is different in the screenshot (Gundam LCD is v0.6.9-1-22-g1d8f9f6 and OLED is v0.7.0-54g9393066). So possibly one is on 3.5 and one on 3.5.1 which is not as bad as 3.4 vs 3.5, but still not properly matched.

The color saturation slider is of course not the real deal. But it makes the colors pop more, which is part of what people want.

As another comment pointed out, the SMT bug is also fixed in 3.5.

The move to faster memory definitely helps performance, as was shown by those who overclocked the LPDDR5 on their launch models.

But the effect of both is game dependent, you can’t say it is all one or the other.

I think getting the OLED is a no-brainer unless your budget is severely limited. It is just so much better, besides the screen also in AAA gaming battery life.

Anyone have insight as to whether this would be enough? She likes cyberpunk, RDR2, and Control.

The easiest way to find out if all these games fit on the internal SSD simultaneously is to add up the minimum disk space requirements from the Steam store page

Cyberpunk 2077: 70 GB (+35 GB for the Phantom Liberty DLC)
RDR2: 150 GB
Control: 42 GB

Total: 262 GB (297 GB with CP2077 DLC)

So obviously these games won’t fit in a 256 GB model, you need 512 GB.

According to Steam Hardware survey, less than 5% of PC gamers have >12 core CPUs, similarly for GPUs which are faster than 7800XT combined.

I’d call that pretty top spec.

Make sure that your browser cookies are cleared or to use a different browser, or else Valve will recognize that you changed region.

Also don’t use free VPNs, they can often be detected by Valve. Rather, use free trials of premium VPNs.

You can theoretically use VPN and create a new account. Payment via gift cards. Though note that there is a risk involved, as VPN is forbidden by Valve TOS. Avoid that the new account gets associated in any way with your main account.
