So you’re using Hyprland WM… I’m assuming to have a minimalistic Window Manager… But you want an app launcher.
No offense, but FFS just use a DE at that point. You’re just creating a DE with extra steps. KDE is nice and fairly lightweight.

I honestly think Generations gets hated on more than it should because the Enterprise D is destroyed. People love that ship.
Voyager. Hands down.
“The Borg, Macroviruses, telepathic pitcher plants…the Delta Quadrant is a death trap” -Janeway-
When even the captain acknowledges it, it’s bad. At least Picard had Starfleet support at his back.
I work for a company in Texas, USA. We actively discourage Windows being used in our organization and push people to use macOS or Linux.
I’m not against AI. I’m against the hoards of privacy-disrespecting data collection, the fact that everybody is irresponsibility rushing to slap AI into everything even when it doesn’t make sense because line go up, and the fact nobody is taking the limitations of things like Large Language Models seriously.
The current AI craze is like the NFTs craze in a lot of ways, but more useful and not going to just disappear. In a year or three the crazed C-level idiots chasing the next magic dragon will settle down, the technology will settle into the places where it’s actually useful, and investors will stop throwing all the cash at any mention of AI with zero skepticism.
It’s not Luddite to be skeptical of the hot new craze. It’s prudent as long as you don’t let yourself slip into regressive thinking.
Debian ticks all of these boxes.
Stable release
Wayland or X Server
It’s Debian, so literally everything is built for it, except maybe some obscure arch packages
Has options for any DE you want
Steam can be installed via Flatpak
Only thing I’m not sure about is your air print stuff. I’m sure there is a package that a quick apt install would get, though.
Coreboot is for x86-64. ARM usually uses U-Boot.
I’ve heard the drivers are a mess for gaming. Better off with Radeon for Linux ATM. I made the same consideration several months ago and the poor compatibility and performance numbers pushed me to a 6600 XT.
Broken clock…and all that

It definitely has some inside jokery going on and references to other shows, but I’d argue it’s more organically done than just calling it “fan service”. It’s also a comedy SciFi, so I feel like it has more leeway than I’d give most shows, though.
The show has progressively become it’s own thing as each season progresses, though.
Season 3 wasn’t amazing, but it certainly wasn’t as awful as Seasons 1 and 2. The scene with the D reveal and the fighting inside the cube was pretty dope, but I’ll admit it was full fan service start to end.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Picard left me going “WTF how did this story make it out of the writer’s room with approval?” With some editing and reworking it COULD have been good…but it wasn’t.
And don’t get me started on Discovery. That show has been a Trainwreck forever.
Honestly with the train wreck that was Seasons 1 and 2, going full fan service was about the only path forward for the last season. I liked Season 3, but it certainly was NOT original.
As for Lower Decks…brah…how is Lower Decks fan service? There are references and stuff, but its got its own vibe now going on.
An engineer at Valve said they’re working on Linux support for it, so it’s definitely something they’ve got their eye on.
I’m just waiting for Valve to support their new Quest SteamVR app with Linux hosts. Once they do I can destroy my Windows 256gb install with impunity.
I grew up with Star Trek Elite Force 1 and 2, Starfleet Command: Orion Pirates, Armada 1 and 2, and Bridge Commander. All excellent games that I played many, many hours of.
Not really news. It’s been floating around 2% for a while.
