They’re excellent at replacing diesel units on lines where electrification is beyond economic viability.

There’s not really a down side that makes them a short term solution.

This is only ever a problem when the thing they’re being asked to do for ‘exposure’ is normal paid work. In this context nobody is being paid, their work isn’t enriching someone else, they would be contributing like all the lemmy devs, the server operators and everyone else contributing to the operation of the site. Why are the keyboards backwards?

I host an old forum with a lot of posts. Back in its heyday it used to consume about 70GB/month total traffic, including images etc.

Now its basically a dead repository and the bots consume 500GB/month of JUST TEXT.
