If they’d released the x86 version of Solaris when it became clear that SPARC couldn’t keep up with Intel and AMD that could have been a possibility.
Solaris was such an amazing OS.

I know, right?!?
I have actually heard about that. Google “gutter oil” if you want some nightmares. They are working on food safety hard though.
Yeah Western China is basically empty. It’s very mountainous and the land is not fertile.
I mean, it’s still a largely rural country
Not so. Wikipedia has a decent article but here’s the crux of it:
By the end of 2023, China had an urbanization rate of 66.2% and is expected to reach 75-80% by 2035
The cities are massive and really densely populated. Shenzhen and Guangzhou are about 90 minutes apart by car if memory serves and account for about 35M people. Hong Kong is an hour south of Shenzhen by train and that’s another ~8M.
I’ve spent a decent bit of time there on a few work trips. Never saw differentiation of eggs in supermarkets (or restaurants). Eggs be eggs.
A huge number of folks are just coming into non-poverty since the turn of the century so it would seem entirely plausible to me that chicken comfort wouldn’t be a thing there just like it wasn’t in the west until comparatively recently and still isn’t for a huge part of the population.
Apart from that it’s really very different culturally. They just view things through an entirely different (and interesting) lens.
I will never understand how they became so massive.
I watched it over two nights and didn’t feel like it lost anything for what it’s worth. Because it’s a slow burn it lends itself well to a split.
I have a twenty year old laser printer. It has no internet connection and does what it’s bloody well told, just like any printer should.
No cyan? No problem.
Telemetry from my printer? Absolutely fucking not.
Yeah was just about to say the same. I had a OnePlus 5 where the cable wasn’t staying in because pocket lint had built up inside in then gotten compressed by me putting in the charger cable. Thin needle and a torch sorted it right out.
I think you’d have to do it the second shares start trading. Shares have to be available to borrow for shorting and there wouldn’t be any for the public before trading starts.
Oh that’s a good one. It feels like it should be doable and then… BAM
Looks good. AppleTV seems to be doing some great original programming in fairness to them.

100% agree with this one. Just drop it in a card with a note. The stress removed by having a birthday sorted is going to heavily outweigh the pride issue.
Suchomimus on YouTube did an analysis and apparently it was downed within patriot range of the front. I still haven’t heard anything concrete though.
Workbench was an absolutely incredible piece of kit. Just so far ahead of its time.
My Amiga story is that I tried to read through the enormous manuals that came in the box one summer because I thought I’d be able to code if I did. I think I was about 11 or 12. Needless to say that didn’t work out.
Life before the internet really had huge drawbacks.
I still used to fire it up at 18 or so for late nights playing civ. Loved that computer so much.
Macbook air
What?!?
y’all are old now
Oh. Yeah. Well I suppose it makes sense when you put it like that.
That’s my understanding. It’s a long time ago but I believe they bought out Sun when they were facing bankruptcy.
