I have a 14700k and you are going to go over 60c with that cooler. I do with a custom water loop and a 420mm radiator. I’m adding another radiator soon.

I went back to asus after a series of problems with 2 different asrock boards. (X570 steel legend that was starting to flake and a z490 board that completely died)
What’s the cpu temperature?
I’m running a 96GB (2x48) 5600 DDR5 corsair kit with a 14700k and it’s working fine. I was too cheap to go faster. It just worked though. (z790)
Thanks. Looks like I got the wattage down to 511-523 watts as measured at the PSU with these changes while running cities skylines 2.
I dual boot multiple operating systems. Initially had to enable csm but I got refind working now. So I can boot with rebar enabled for windows gaming but still boot bsd in uefi mode
Munin. It’s highly portable and works with many operating systems.
I’ve got an arc a750 in my Ubuntu box. It works great and I’ve been able to play some games on steam without issues.
It actually works better than the rx570 I had before.
There are going to be games that don’t work or work well but that also happens on amd gpus. Enemy territory has been unplayable for over a year on some maps due to amd optimizations from may 2022 in their drivers. It works on arc. I can’t play et on my gaming pc with a 6900xt but I can play on my Linux box with arc.
I just tried to cap a 14700k to 253 watts. I was able to get the average below 200 watts (closer to 180) but I observed brief spikes in aida64 and with my ups monitoring to 325 watts even with pl1/pl2 set to 125 and most post tech off. (MCE, TVB, ABT off and some other tuning)
I’d say it’s difficult to prevent high usage spikes with 14th gen based on this.
