As fucked as the poultry industry is, that’s not really a thing for a couple reasons. First is the FDA banned that practice, so in the USA at least you’re not going to find any poultry products where hormones or steroids are used – “hormone/steroid free!” is marketing BS stating they’re not doing something illegal.

Second: we’ve selectively bred chickens (broilers) that grow so freakishly fast and big you don’t need to give them hormones or steroids – their bodies naturally produce excessive amounts. These are chickens that need their food supply controlled because they will literally eat themselves to death if allowed to. They grow so large and quickly it’s common they develop leg issues leaving them immobile, and most will “naturally” start to die of heart attacks if they aren’t killed after 8 weeks.

  • – But it generally does in developed countries as the majority of people going through the effort of keeping chickens in that environment are into keeping chickens. You might get some shitty setups, but the norm is decent quality feed and far less stress than large scale commercial setups.

It’s more of a hobby than a “get rich” scheme.

  • Bubba here.

I’m a nice guy: I give some small, cute dude a compliment and he acts like a total bitch about it? I’m the “creep” because I jokingly asked him if he wants to come back to my cell? Oh, my comments make him uncomfortable? Give me a fuckin’ break.

Maybe if he doesn’t want guys checking him out he should stop acting and dressing like such a slut.

  • A singer 29k53 treadle sewing machine from the 1930s. Nearly identical to this one:

It was originally made for sewing leather shoes and boots – hence the boot shaped tray. I use it for heavy duty sewing and leather working.

I considered adding a motor, but the hand wheel and treadle give a massive amount of control. On repairs I can usually put each stitch through the existing holes in the material without the machine getting away from me.

I had to intubate patients as part of my clinical time for paramedic, which meant time in the OR. Some surgeons would let us hang out and watch the surgery. Orthopedic surgery sounded like a cross between a construction site and an automotive shop. Die grinders, saws, and power drills.

Also, apparently knee replacement involves one guy doing MMA submission moves on the patient’s leg while another goes at their exposed, hyper-flexed knee joint with a hammer and chisel.

The Dems have run relative leftists in the past: Bernie Sanders was on the primary ballot in 2020 … and lost.

If you want to blame anyone: look at our fellow “voters”. Asking my under-30 coworkers if they voted in the primary and/or the general election was depressing as fuck.

  • A private company is absolutely more efficient than a government. The boss simply says “this is what we’re doing” and that’s it – it’s just a question of what goal they’re efficiently pursuing.

The problem is that intelligent, empathetic, and selfless people rarely rise to those positions. The few that do usually get pushed out of business by ruthless assholes.
