Do they run a credit check and ask for ID to activate this phone?

Thanks so much for the info. A few more questions though.

1. Can you make up info? Since it’s a pay as you go type of plan, can I say I’m Bob Smith when I sign up and they won’t verify it? Or is it one of those credit check sorta sign ups and they’re going to ask for ID and such?

2. He already has a phone number. But he’s on a pay as you go plan with T-Mobile. So are you saying you get a new phone number when you start with Walmart, but in 60 days he can take out the SIM card and pop in his old one from his iPhone 6 and everything will be okay?
