2·9 months agoHey, I am not Canadian but I was wondering what you’re guy’s forest management looks like? I’m not saying this to be rude, I was honestly wondering this the other day and figured I could ask here.

2·9 months agoThank god! I know a lot of gamers still hug their consoles, but I haven’t had one since ninety dickety two, and I figured at least I could watch the pretty game if I couldn’t play it. Because I am not about to grab a console for one game =P!
Thank you by the by! It was super sweet to pass this along =)

2·9 months agoGet out! I was thinking lately that I wish they would (re)release all of their games again so I can finally play the damn game with the bird-dog. A long time ago, a friend showed me a trailer for that game before it came out. I missed it, and maybe with them releasing a new game they might consider putting the old ones up for funding? I don’t care how awful the controls or the ai is, their games blow my mind, just like you said =)! Thanks for the heads up! I wonder if it’ll end up being an Playstation exclusive, or if they’ll open the channels up a bit more?

4·9 months agoI mean, I am all for failure as a whole. Cause it really is true what they say about the growth being in the action of failure. I also like tactics, but I like to have the space to think on the tactics I am enduring. I think it’s cool that a game introduced that in a very action-oriented way. There seems to be a lot of creativity in the creatures as well, which I like. I will say as I get older my reaction time has lessened even worse than I’d say it originally was. I never played shooters or anything, although I had friends go ham on them. I think perhaps it might be an incongruity with what I want out of a game with swords x boss battles. The game I think of when I think of big papa boss battles is Shadow of the Colossus. Cause it’s pretty much the only one I have ever played like that. I feel the game though, while exciting, is actually pretty slowly paced. Which makes it more accessible to me. Most “sword” games though, I want to play like a dumb-dumb. I wanna hack, slash, and feel all powerful. Smash everything in sight (Dynasty Warriors). I think the two clashing might also be making it difficult for me to pick it up.
But I guess the third thing is that pretty much any time I have grabbed a game that is hyper popular nowadays I don’t really seem to like it much. That might be an age thing too, idk. Might be a lot of things, but I generally think I might not be the audience for most AAA games. In fact, I know I am not =P!

3·9 months agoI think of the lot of them the two that would be the most interesting to me would be Dark Souls and Elden Ring. I didn’t have an X-box and I left gaming for quite some time. So I didn’t even know about any of these games until I came back. I like the idea of sneaking around a castle slowly. I liked it in Ico at least. So I figured it might be like that. Idk too much about it though.

5·9 months agoYeah, this is how I feel sort of in general. I think as I get older. If I am not having fun, it doesn’t really seem worth the venture. No matter how pretty something is, or how good everyone says something is. I also think often a lot of these games aren’t really designed with a player like me in mind. Which is fine, cause I suppose I am a minority in gaming. I just figured if someone could make a Soulslike that mobile gamers could play (easy enough to adapt) they’d make a mint.

201·9 months agoI love Yahtzee and have since a hundred years back when a friend introduced me to him via…Amnesia or something like that (then had me play his bomb ass adventure game - the first one I ever played). I am so thankful that he posted a video on this. Cause these modern games going hard on timing based hyper-tough combat have pretty much made the inaccessible to me. Everyone has gone gaga over these modern souls-like games. I just don’t think I have the brain for quick responsive reactions. That’s okay, cause not every game is made for everyone. I do however love bigguns, body horror and phantasms. I have seen the majestic and creepy things in games like Elden Ring, and would love to smash the hey out of them. I just don’t think there’s a chance I could ever “get gud” enough to play to the expected parameters of this type of game when I can’t even do quick time events right. First mil to the person who can bring Soulslikes to the common man! Until then, I’ll play my turn-based clicky games with a dumb smile.

3·9 months agoNo worries, I am a fucking weirdo like - super cereal. I’m mixed, and I grew up in a predominantly black area without cable or anything. The TV was typically occupied by the adults so it was like a pretty hard thing to get a whack at. I was for sure alive, I just am really shit with a combination of cultural references and names in general. Big apologies on my behalf, cause you know - you can “google” everything but I also figured like - we could just you know - talk like people do hahaha! I think just looking everything kind of ruins the human experience in a way. I mean it’s fun, and fine. It’s something that I do a lot of. I just figured if you had something nifty to share I would readily take a look at it (and I am sure lots of others would too =)!)
I’ll just glance at his Youtube instead, cause I think makers are the bee’s knees and they’re pretty fun to have a watch over. Heads up on the glue gun, grab a “nice one” doesn’t have to be the best, but don’t grab bottom of the barrel. We did that cause we needed one for a mini project over here. At the time we had just moved and money was tight. We figured just grab the cheap one, it’ll be no problem. That thing was awful. It was labeled as “high heat” but that sucker melted glue at a glacial rate. I mean it was just painful. I think it probably needed a 10 on, 15 off rule or something because it ended up burning out too. If I grabbed another I’d go for like…idk - one that fluctuates temperatures, has a stand, and is way less of a fire hazard. I did think, man these things are nifty though while using them and understood while all the craft folks go bananas for them.
Big thanks, and super no worries.

2·9 months agoWhen I opened the link I had a “woahohohohoho” kinda deep belly laugh so thank you for that. Hehehe! I never even thought of that. One time I did see a show where someone used beach trash to represent a dead seagull or something like that but it was a long time ago. I think it was a statement on well…beach trash. This kinda reminds me of that. It’s so awesome what human minds can come up with =P!

2·9 months agoOn the low-low - I still use Youtube like…90% of the time. I don’t have a Google account anymore, but almost all of the content I love is on there. I have a Peertube account, but I haven’t really spent a majority of time on it. I’d watch it though, seriously.

3·9 months agoI am making a mental note on this. I once lived in a place where getting dirt was so nearly impossible, and compost seemingly was the only way to produce more outside of just importing it. I have always found this kind of stuff so interesting. I plan on living in the middle of nowhere again at some point soon, and need to put this somewhere in the depths of my brain-bin for future reference. Thank you for not only sharing, but also providing awesome links. I am going to scour them. Cheers and keep being awesome =)!
Hey there, took a look at all of these resources. I had no clue that cutter existed, but it looks quite lovely. Once upon a life ago I used to use box cutters to hand cut a lot of precision things. I still take immense joy from doing so, and have pretty much been cannibalizing everything with an x-acto. I gotta share this guy and see if maybe it’ll be a good fit for our household now or later. On the shroomies, looks like you got a good grow with just the boiled cardboard. Gotta love fresh oyster mushrooms =)
Also I think I gotta make one of those finger-friendly cutters because it’s just to cute and tinker-y not to. Thanks again for the share!

Idk, I think some things have a lot of intent in them. Some old cartoons were absolutely made just to sell toys (although I guess that is intent - to sell). I think art can also just exist, and doesn’t need a message behind it. It can just be an expression of a vision turned into some sort of physical manifestation. I will argue that a lot of people are influenced heavily by the need for $$$ (rightfully so). Likewise, I think a lot of media is manipulative and can have a sort of vapid feeling regardless of if AI is involved or not. Maybe you just need to find some new things to fall in love with? Maybe you just wanna hang with your older stuff. It’s all good, just saying that it’s not as hopeless as it feels even if a lot of media is an absolute dumpster fire. To be honest, it kinda has been for a while (I can’t say always, but for sure I remember some absolute shit coming outta the 70s).
