i like gentoo and I like arch…I see void as better part of both combined

xbps is as gud as pacman and is rly fast for binary. xbps-src gives me control like portage

arch is light by design, but uses systemd which slows my boot, gentoo is slightly heavier than arch (but u can make it smaller) , gentoo boots faster with openrc compared to arch with systemd…now combine the gud stuff …void, runit boots faster , void is lighter than both out of the box

Only part I can point out where void lacks compared to gentoo is profiles and security options, other than that its perfect

And overall i like the minimalism, flexibility and control

I have even tried LFS , sure it was gud in every aspect and was perfect for my needs built by me, except package manager, I’m not rly looking forward to writing a package manager better than xbps.

P.S when I say gentoo is heavier than arch I meant out of the box right after installation

We all know nvidia sucks with Linux , you should have tried a distro which supports nvidia oob, idt Ubuntu was the right choice

also it is a gud thing we are finding exploits so that we can fix them ; theres currently no OS with zero exploits, the fact that none being found is concerning bcz nobody is checking and there might be some bad exploits in them…

oh nah , i wasnt converting anyone to other inits …i was just sharing wut i thought of it, systemd is great for people who like it…after all its part of the FOSS ecosystem

lol , i hope linux develops more and becomes mainstream

debian is gud its just setting up anything other than systemd is a hassle there…debian and fedora would be great distros for regular users if it supported more init systems out-of-the-box

i dont really close my lid and walk away, i usually just lock the screen and turn off the display if required without suspending.

altho i have noticed users complain that suspend fails after a specific service/application is started so u might wanna check on that

grapheneOS wont be affected by this so, atleast we dont loose all hope
