By “self hosting” do you mean serving apps from your own computer, where that computer is always online so you can access your own apps from the net on a client machine? Even when you’re at work or out in the city?

I think most of us have a good idea of the benefits and drawbacks of Linux/Windows/Apple.
I have a Windows machine for media production, because Linux doesn’t support all the software I need for media production. I use Linux for absolutely everything else, because it’s better for literally everything else. In truth, a MacBook Pro would be better for media production but they’re too expensive.
I wrote my own file system in binary BTW (on a computer I forged from sand in my back yard)
A VPS is also very expensive though. And shared hosting usually only allows HTML and PHP. So what’s the affordable alternative?
I don’t think anybody ever believed any of those things.
Human instances still run on the same underlying physics. No further RAM is needed.
Why would we run out of RAM? Is there new matter being created? It’s not like we’re storing anything. We will keep using the same resources.

Yeah go straight to the source.
Is it federated? Or is it just a solo version for anybody who wants their own solo bandcamp?
I love bandcamp as it is, but this is an amazing idea.
If he dies do William become king or does Camilla the Usurper become queen?
I’m not clicking the link because that movie was worse than garbage. But does anybody know what this is about?
Yeah there’s absolutely no connection whatsoever, despite what the developers might say. I’m not knocking the games but it’s not the same character or world.
It was a joke.
There is a meritocratic aspect to reality. There are also meritocratic aspects to capitalism. So it’s partly real, for sure.
A real meritocracy would nurture merit. In terms of policy that would manifest as socialist policies that create a level playing field.
Hiring based on identity is fiercely anti-meritocratic. Expensive degrees and high interest student loans are also anti-meritocratic.
In order to answer this, I’d need to compare the efficacy of both the for-profit and the non-profit organizations. In some countries you don’t get paid, and I don’t know if that leads to blood shortages.
