Kamala Harris lost every swing state AND the Senate. We live in the same country we did 4 years ago, we live in the same country that elected Barrack Obama twice.
People are paying 50% more for bread, eggs, and rent, with no relief given, no corporate greed stiffled BEFORE it hit average Americans in the face, and just kept hitting them. The average American doesn’t care about economic numbers, they care about whether or not they can pay the rent.
Trump isn’t going to make any of this better, he’s going to make it ordinates worse. People vote for change, when faced with the inevitability of suffering they’ll vote for different, come what may.

See, the problem with publicly traded corporations is, they’ve got to constantly not only be making as much money this year as they did the previous year, but they’ve got to increase shareholder value, which means, raising prices, or reducing the product to save costs, we have termed that last bit enshitification. I mean, they don’t HAVE to, but if they choose not to, the board of directors will push for a change in CSUITE personnel, and those fuckers are raking in the big bucks, and really really like their 3rd vacation homes in Aspen, so you pay more, or you get less, and sometimes you pay more AND you get less. And the beat goes on.
This is sad news, but not totally unexpected, at least by me. The first season had the dual storylines of young Catherine and older Catherine which really gave it some depth, and it was far grander of a scale. Samantha Morton is fine, but what really grabbed my attention was Liv Hill who played Young Catherine was captivating, and her storyline was a lot more exciting. The Second season while good, was not great, and suffered from being almost claustrophobic in it’s portrayal of the French court. This spinoff with Minnie Driver as Elizabeth could be fun, but she’s playing it waaaay over the top, so we’ll just have to see what they give us. Bonus for all the stars getting paid for a third season without having to do any of the work.
“oh look, a horn, instructions didn’t say anything about a horn, fuck, what to do now”
agreed on all points, i dig it, it’s got a bit more bite and sass to it than most canadian shows i’ve sampled, and i found myself looking forward to each new weeks episode. also liked jus reigns Late Bloomer, and am looking forward to it’s second season too.
done. cheers for the tip.
kris kristofferson just died too today, the last time there was a slate of dozens of celebrities that all died in the same year like this was 2016, and we know what happened that november, so, it doesn’t look good for the fate of the united states, and the rest of the world. buy canned food, plant vegetables.
The movie that is constantly being re-watched, and I guess has become my happy place in the last 10 years, is The Martian
no, it never is, it’s the last one, and the ants dance
holiday = time off work where you spend your time watching after your children
parental leave is quite the concept, you choose to procreate, so the company then needs to cover your responsibilities by assigning your duties and tasks to other workers, increasing their work load, so you can stay home and raise your child, and at the end of that leave, you, the worker whose been forced to increase your workload, gets no additional compensation or paid leave, but should simply enjoy having been a small unpaid part of others child rearing, while the company still makes as much profit, and pays as many bonuses to their management as they always have. sure, sounds fair.
yes, they are. it’s been reported so many time, it’s like continuing to ask if narwhals are real.
Seems as if the team was demanding equity in the form of the spinoff, and ownership ultimately decided they weren’t going to give it to them, and now their whole team quit. Power move. Now ownership is going to try to get some of those people back by offering them huge sign on bonuses and equity, wonder how many are going to go for it, or if they’ll stand pat as a group.
so tired of boring, bad television and movies, the citadel was garbage, the first three episodes of the day of the jackal were excellent. i was quite surprised as i was expecting yet again some weirdly cgi, bloated, bond like also ran. what i got was tight, exciting, and left me really wanting the next episode. sky really nailed this. bravo.
