  • Article title is click bait. They are not referring to the starting price, but the fact that more recent consoles don’t drop in price within a year or two like the older ones did.

Also, I disagree with the premise because modern consoles tend to start at a lower relative price which could mean they are more accurately guessing the market value up front or maybe the older ones were priced to gather as much income as fast as possible on the original release and the cost drop was to get rid of excess stock.

  • I love how far he leans into the satire.

Here’s the problem: my posts are not satire. Groundbreaking philosophy can sometimes feel like satire because it is so avant-garde and interesting.

What’s next? I have to sit at the back of the bus because those are the “Satire Seats”? My children have to go to the specific “Satire School”? This is segregation at its finest.

  • It reads like a combination of multiple people’s ridiculous individual requirements wrapped into one listing. Like one person said no spare room, someone else said to bring educational stuff, another is only paying $18 a day, and so on.

So definitely a parody, but I would bet each individual thing is based on someone and maybe slightly exaggerated.

  • AmidFuror’s description is on point and I see it as a variant of Poe’s Law. Instead of sarcasm being mistaken for a real belief, it is presenting a fictional account of someone being self aware that is mistaken for someone actually becoming self aware.

There are two lines that make me absolutely certain it is written by someone who it not a vibe coder and is leaning into the sarcasm.

    • ‘pulling out my wallet for someone that knows what they are doing’ implies the poster knows they don’t know what they are doing
    • ‘vibe coding is just roleplaying for guys who want to feel like hackers’ is a joke I’ve seen directed at vibe coders more than once

Keep in mind that not all deception is malicious, but most people see the word deception as having a negative implication. An actor/actress pretending to be someone else is technically deceptive the same way as whoever wrote this hilarious post. They are presenting a fictional account for an audience.

  • Well, reusable rockets are worth it

This was already known, but NASA going through the test phase that involved rockets exploding get very different public push back compared to a private company using government money to do the same thing.

, LEO satellite Internet being worthwhile,

Already known, but the negative side effects that starlink ignores were the reason that didn’t take off.

    electric cars being a thing.

Electric cars were already a thing. My dad had a home made prototype one based on regular old car batteries with a very limited range in the 80s. What needed to catch up was battery tech, and Tesla was already an electric car company before Musk took over so his involvement has been to get government subsidies for the company to ‘innovate’ by ignoring laws and make shitty decision like hidden handles or limiting teslas fancy cruise control to cameras that gets people killed.

Other than securing government funding to prop those companies up he hasn’t positively contributed to any of those things. All of his other decisions are wrong and he is a dumbass on the technical side who was born into money and knows how to influence people.
