It’s most likely watching Youtube with your VPN that’s broken then, not NewPipe. Youtube implemented Captchas for IPs that generate a lot of traffic/a lot of people are using. That’s how they are trying to kill frontends like invidious that proxy the requests. NewPipe by default uses your own IP so it doesn’t have that problem. If you use a VPN IP that a lot of others are using too, you’ll get that same problem though.

Immutable systems are useful for separating the system and application layers and to enable clean and easy rollbacks. On servers the applications are often already separated anyway through the use of container technologies. So having atomic system updates could enable faster and less risky security patching without changing anything about how applications are handled.

Just be aware that that answer is very over-simplifying things. “Left” and “right” are supposed to signify political ideas, not certain parties or politicians. You could say that Biden is to the “left” of Trump, but most people who would call themselves “left-wing” would consider Biden a “centrist” (between left and right) at best, maybe even skewing right-wing.

Typical left-wing ideals would be working towards freedom and equality for everyone by solidarity and cooperation, whereas right-wing ideas usually focus around preserving your own privileges by suppressing whomever you consider “outsiders” or “inferiors”.

They’ve also been known to give (not sell) data on you to law enforcement based solely on your location data or things you looked up.

I mean sure, they could try combining the user agents my unofficial apps provide with my carrier’s NAT IP to build a profile on me, but it would be highly inefficient and imprecise to the point where it’s almost useless for them. With a Youtube Premium account they have an identity tied to an email address, full name, and payment info that they can relate every click in their apps and websites to. If I also use their other services with the same account, I would be paying them to spy on everything I do and sell my data, so other companies can sell me crap.

I don’t have a Framework laptop, but I’d assume that the storage expansion modules are seen as regular USB external drives. So if your BIOS has USB as the first priority boot option, it would boot whatever system is installed on there when it is plugged in, and boot the system on the internal storage when it isn’t. I have a setup like that on my laptop with a WindowsToGo installation on an external SSD.
