Aha. Well, I guess I’m not the target audience because I can’t be bothered to go through the installation steps. It’s not in the LMDE repository, but I wish it were!
Hmm, that’s not working for me. You mean use those as options? ‘ls -eza’?
I learned you can edit .bashrc
(in your home dir) and update the alias for ls to include what I like. It has saved me lots of keystrokes. Mine is ls -lha
in addition to whatever color coding stuff is there by default.
Black Olives (or green, either way).
I use them when warranted, which isn’t very often. I don’t think the avoidance of using swears is a religious thing, it’s a language/cultural thing. For some reason they’re just deemed “bad words”. They exist in almost all languages and cultures as far as I know.
A good friend of mine swears a lot unless kids are around. I don’t mind it, but he’s sort of “that guy” because of it. If he was someone I just met, I’d think he’s just a bit lowbrow and that’s about it. I wouldn’t think poorly of anyone because of it as long as their attitude is good.
People look at expensive houses more often than not. You can definitely send someone, though, like if you’re looking at a house in a different city and can’t get there just for a showing. We did that once and had our friend do a video chat with us.
Honest quetion, what’s a stan account?
Oh wow. Weird that it defaults to off.
Holy cow. You can use your mouse with micro. Amazing.

They had it installed on the computer in my 5th grade classroom.
Like, on the inside of the bucket? It’ll still hold water like normal.

I installed it on my Desktop, replacing LMDE. Unfortunately I have trouble running the one game that I play even though it works on Linux with Steam. It worked in Linux Mint, but for some reason it won’t start in Bazzite. Surely it’s because I have an Nvidia graphics card, but that wasn’t a problem with Linux Mint.
Another problem that I ran into was Firefox (flatpak) crashing all the time. Luckily you just have to disable wayland using Flatseal, but I still get graphics glitches with it.
I’m thinking of restoring my Linux Mint backup.
I don’t know why I’m responding to your comment, I just wanted to share my experience, I guess.
I used to mount network attached storage in /mnt until I had problems accessing it from a Snap. In searching for a solution it was pointed out that snaps are correct in being sandboxed from these types of folders, and users like myself are making things difficult for ourselves by using those system folders.
They said the best practice would be to mount them in a folder in your home directory. I’ve switched to doing that and it works great.
Just because you’re not into that sort of thing doesn’t make it weird.
“Weirdness” is a strange concept, honestly. People probably thought you were weird for not going.
I would separate the two – Prom isn’t necessarily theatrical in nature. It’s usually the first time a teen gets to dress up and do something special with friends, but the type of thing you’re seeing sounds like pretty typical “lets see if I can go viral” narcissistic behavior.
I haven’t seen anything like what you’re talking about, but Prom isn’t the only target of this type of thing.
You mean like the one linked here? Or something with a specific URL like “killedbymozilla.com”?
