Whoever wins the trenches wins the game. I’m a little worried about our O-line against their D-line, but hopefully we can get it done.

Dobbs has finally figured out that you can step up in the pocket.
Vikings don’t deserve to win, but neither do the Bears. The only legitimate outcome would be a tie. A shameful, shameful tie.
That goal line play to CMC was a thing of beauty. Shanahan sure can draw them up.
The Eagles are a tough team. They don’t blow their opponents out like we’ve done several times this year, they’re a grind it out team that finds a way to win close games. That is not our strength. That being said, the Chiefs could have won that game last night if they hadn’t turned the ball over and if their receivers hadn’t dropped so many passes. The Eagles are beatable, but to do it we have to not turn the ball over, get some takeaways, take advantage of every opportunity and play as close to mistake free football as possible for the full 60 minutes.
One of the very few times I will be rooting for the Chiefs. I might need a drink.
I was happy Brock didn’t get another intentional grounding call. Shanahan even mentioned it in the post game, makes me think it was something they had talked about and it shows that Brock is listening and learning. I think that’s one of the best things about the kid: his willingness to listen and put what he’s being taught into practice.
Thank God for a few big plays from our offense and from Fred Warner, or this game could have gone very differently.
Jimmy and Jerry: tales from the crypt
I live right on the border between a blue area and a red area. The nearest Fox affiliate isn’t showing the game, but a slightly further away Fox affiliate is. Lol. I moved my TV antenna to a different room and I think I should be able to pick up the Fox affiliate that is showing the game. What a pain in the ass, I wish the NFL would come up with something better that doesn’t cost $400.
So, the first one is Purdy and the second one is Stroud? Did Purdy lose a fumble in that game? What was the third turnover?
Regardless, I don’t think anyone is saying Stroud should win MVP. Some people are saying he should win offensive rookie of the year, which he probably should. He’s having a near historic rookie season. Purdy is also having an historic year: He’s on pace to break the franchise single season passing record. Purdy was in the MVP conversation, earlier in the year, then the Niners lost three in a row and Purdy threw five picks in those losses. If Purdy continues to have games like the one against Jacksonville, though, he might get back in the MVP conversation.
Alcohol plus stupidity, works every time.
I think we might have a good QB. I’m happy about that.
Purdy has elite potential. He’s making some elite throws, but he’s also still making at least one bone headed play per game. If he can fix that, he should be our next franchise QB.
I’ve been critical of Purdy, but that TD throw to Kittle was incredible. That was about as good a throw as you’ll see in NFL.
Our defense has played really well overall today, our offense hasn’t looked great, outside of Christian McCaffrey.
He’s definitely not the only problem. I would say Purdy should be spared most of the blame simply because he’s paid so little compared to all of the other starters. I mean, I blame a guy making the league minimum a lot less than a guy making tens of millions of dollars a year. Where are the rest of these guys? Where are these vets who have the experience and the big paychecks to match? Are they seriously going to let a second year, seventh round draft pick take all the blame?
Trent Williams has been injured for the last three games and we’ve lost them all. We are a contender with him and without him I’m not even sure we make the playoffs.
I keep hearing a stat that Purdy is bottom five in the league in “turnover worthy throws,” whatever that means. I think maybe defenses are starting to catch up and they’re starting to make him pay. The less Purdy has to throw, the lower the chances he gets punished for one of those turnover worthy throws, and if the Niners are behind, especially late, he has to throw more. Through the first five games, the Niners only trailed for like a minute and forty five seconds and Purdy threw no picks, the last three games we’ve trailed much, much more and Purdy has thrown five picks.
To be fair, we finished the first quarter with like -8 yards. The Eagles had like over 100 yards and they were moving the ball fairly well. It was looking pretty bad. Obviously the Niners completely turned things around, which is great, but after that first quarter I can definitely understand why people weren’t feeling good about this game.
