The Pixel 6 brought 5 years of software+security updates; the 8 brought 7 years. The 6 started using semi-custom Samsung soc. 8 brought new security features at the hardware level. Beyond that, minor changes afaik. 6 Pro brought true zoom (I really appreciate it), there’s a few features that need the 8 soc for “ai”, variable refresh rate on the 7 (I think), higher+lower vrr on the 8, etc.

I upgrade regularly: whenever an interesting feature or security improvement is made available, or if a family member needs a new phone (I get the new one, they get my used). Nexus 4, 6, 6P, Pixel 2 XL, 3XL, 5, 6 Pro, 7 Pro, 8 Pro. Toss in the Nexus 7 gen 1 and 2 (cellular) too, and my days of having a conversation with a tablet held to my ear for calls. Family is all pixel 6 or newer right now, and shouldn’t need to upgrade for another 2.5y.

In CS1 I had like, 6 mods? But the only one I really used was TM, since the ai is awful with picking a path or traversing a roundabout, or wanting a 2way stop with 2way priority, or… That’s the only one I’m currently ‘missing’, but I’m making okay progress without. I’m on my first and only city, and very recently I broke 1 billion of city funds (edit: with a population of ~45k) with 96 hours of playtime. So I’m doing alright :p

Oh they have had them since inception, basically. SL was the place to be up until the VR craze if you wanted to “be” furry.

Most stuff new to me (not E6 or FA) comes through Twitter or Telegram. There a ton of furs on the bird, but I don’t really know how to use Twitter so I just bumble around and get links to stuff from other sources.

So uh, I’ve been a fur for (oh lord have mercy) two decades now. E6 is great, and FA is adding tag management to (theoretically) have a blacklist etc too. But at E6, unless it’s piping hot content, I’ve seen it, saved it. And on FA, I follow checks 470 artists or characters, and while that’s still expanding, again I feel like I’ve seen all of the kinks I’m after, and even diving into other stuff just to see. Hell, I’m still on SL for that personal touch, since my mind can only do so much.

Reddit still has a decent amount of gay stuff (or gay adjacent - /foreskin <3) but the furry porn largely died out with the protests, and is now scattered to the wind. I’ve got some on Twitter, some on bluesky, some on discord, some just closed up shop.
