  • I’ve been eating gluten free for 15+ years now, and it’s gotten so much easier now. Though the food definitely costs more if you want any sort of grains.

When I was diagnosed I had basically no symptoms (my mom was also diagnosed). Now if I eat gluten I’ll end up feeling similar to a hangover. It’s amazing what your body can get used to if you’re eating it constantly.

Now that I’ve been eating gluten free, several of my other food sensitivities and allergies have become more mild or gone away entirely. Milk was a big one when I was younger (tested negative for lactose, but the milk proteins can look similar to gluten to your immune system).

  • Seize who’s assets exactly? The second you draw a line and say anyone on the other side has fewer rights than you, you’re falling right in line with those same right-wing policies.

There is no way to define a law against “right-wingers” that doesn’t infringe on basic rights like freedom of opinion and freedom from discrimination. You can’t punish people for being part of a group. You need to point to something specific that each individual has done that is illegal before prosecuting. Anything less and society will break down into fascism.

In theory it makes it possible for other games to use the same items to make stuff in their games (I doubt this in practice)

I’ve heard this before, but there’s literally nothing preventing games from setting up some shared items on their own without NFTs. Nobody does it because companies want to keep their IP, and worrying about external items would be a nightmare to balance.

NFTs solve like 1% of the problem of sharing items. So much more goes into making them actually work. For example: NFT id 5551337 is owned by the player: now what? How do you figure out what 3d model to render? What actions can you perform? How does it integrate with other systems? All of that is going to have to be custom for every game involved on a per-item basis.

The way you phrased that perfectly illustrates the current problem AI has: In a problem space as large as natural language, there are nearly an infinite number of ways it can be wrong. So no matter how much data we feed it, there will always be some “brand new sentence” someone asks that breaks it and causes a wrong answer.

  • I watched the entire linked Not Just Bikes video, but I only read the first few paragraphs of that article. Linking to a full article like that is like the opposite of TL;DR.

I think we can agree urban sprawl is a problem. It forces a cities resources to get spread thinner and thinner as things are built out, and like your link video stated, it leaches from the downtown areas that are self-sustaining.

In my opinion the taxes should exactly reflect the expenses such that it incentives more efficient land use. What that would actually look like from a legal sense, I’m not going to pretend I know enough to write.

  • The problem is that property value of homes has nothing to do with cost of building out city services. In many areas the value of homes is going up much faster than the cost of maintaining the roads and services around them.

Property taxes should be tied to things like acreage, road access, zoning type, and the city’s budget. Not the free market value of the home, which is unrelated.

Housing prices have gone up roughly double in the last 10 years, while inflation has only gone up 35%.

It is extremely unfair to single homeowners to be paying for the housing demand increase, and I say this as someone who’s only able to rent. Those property taxes get passed right along to me through rent increases.

  • The fact it’s AI alone means it’s extra effort for any reader to determine if it’s actually true. What’s the point of posting claims if noone believes them until they do their own search? If you already checked it yourself, just post the actual source instead of AI’s plausible sounding BS.
