One of the things not addressed in this interview is how the ideology of libertarianism is central to the transition from markets to fiefdoms. All the big tech bros are huge libertarians and that’s not an accident.
And I do think this is a new phenomena unlike classic capitalism. Marx thought that a post-scarcity society would mean more leisure, he didn’t anticipate that that leisure was just another source of value to exploit. Think of reddit selling it’s “content” to an AI company. That content wasn’t produced by coerced labor paid unfairly, it was produced by voluntary labor paid nothing.
when the courts operate on the basis of “innocent until proven guilty”.
This is a slogan, a hypothetical that applies to a spherical defendant in a vacuum. In over 90% of all US criminal convictions, the prosecution has no burden of proof.

That’s kinda the problem. He’s much more comfortable behind a microphone than behind a telescope.
The American war for independence was hardly a revolution, more like an under new management. For the average citizen, material conditions didn’t change at all. Most institutions were carried over with slight rebranding. The democracy was limited and the constitution had a pound of protection for the ownership class for every ounce of franchise doled out to merchant class men.
Liberty and democracy are for 3rd grade textbooks. The truth is that the ownership class was sick of taking royal orders and tired of paying franchise fees. The crown foolishly defeated the other colonial and native powers on the continent, sapping royal strength while removing British utility to the Americans.
Next up are the Industrial Revolution, Manifest Destiny, and America as the ‘land of the free,’ which came as a surprise to the slaves

Everything I know about Linux I learned troubleshooting a problem. And I still feel like I don’t know shit about the OS. After so long with Windows, Linux feels like living in a country where you don’t speak the language; everything is harder than it needs to be.
If the day comes where games are as easy on Linux as they are on Windows, I’ll give desktop Linux another shot.
This said, I’ve self-hosted on a Debian box for years.

So, a genocide doesn’t count unless it’s complete, and if the Palestinians in Gaza knew what was good for them they’d self-ethnic-cleanse?
they have genocidal leadership who are clearly intent on attacking their neighbors until they’re all dead.
What you’re implying is that Hamas is bringing down genocide on their own people via the IDF. Since Hamas is in control of, and responsible for the IDF, why don’t they use it to attack Israel? Are they stupid?
It’s ironic you bring up Marbury vs. Madison. The case where the Supreme Court gave itself the extra-constitutional authority to strike down laws.
“Colorblindness” is just reconciliation without the truth. It’s a project concerned with the comfort of white people.
You can’t just use cherry picked quotes to make dead men endorse stupid shit

The things people didn’t like (it’s another crappy live service looter shooter) is the core of what they promised the investors. AAA game studios make games for investors, not players.
The games industry becomes much less frustrating and more comprehensible when you keep this fact in mind.
I love it when people go out of their way to insist they don’t care about something. “I don’t care about politics” is the absolute gold standard, but this is pretty good too.
Horseshit. Why do people endlessly promote Linux only to turn around and express smugness, gatekeeping, and hostility to new users?
You’re not even correct. The Everything as a file philosophy isn’t an antivirus program. Like it’s impossible to get malware by blindly pasting script into a terminal.
This attitude is a bigger obstacle to adoption than games compatibility.
People see shooters and murderers and how they get infamous and gain notoriety. Since that’s the most available outcome from an outside perspective, they assume it’s the motive.
This is why some people think that refusing to name shooters is somehow denial or punishment; a way to fight back.
The motive doesn’t matter. I mean is there a good reason?
Every monument should fall. The only reason to honor Bob Lee is because he’s responsible for more dead slavers than any three Union generals.
Trebek’s rizz is nostalgia for the past, Jennings’ is hope for the future.
You know, it’s perfectly OK to group voters by identity, so long as that identity cannot exclude “Normal” people. Soccer Mom, Six pack Dad, Middle class, working poor, labor, Small Business owner, Rural, Urban, and Suburban are all perfectly fine to promise these groups political power. But you do the exact same thing for queer people or black people and that’s identity politics all of a sudden.
