Was playing Lost Judgment and there is a quest chain where you need to play Virtual Fighter 5 to help the kids from the eSports club.

That got me thinking if there is any other case where a game inside a game is more than a minigame and actually part of the story. The only other case that I remember is Crash in Uncharted 4.
