Daeny said at the post match press conference in regards to a Korean reporter’s question about scrim partners.

Q. I have a question for Daeny. I’m curious how you prepared for the finals. It was last minute and there weren’t many people to scrim against. Have you had a chance to scrim against any LCK or LPL teams in preparation for the finals?

Daeny : (Having the availability of scrim partners) I actually believe that could be of some advantage to the teams of the host nation, LCK for this year.

When I was with DWG for the Worlds 2020 in China, I couldn’t book any scrims for a week after having made to the finals. We perhaps played like three scrim games?

Even at this year’s Worlds, there are only a few teams that maintains the roster without being affected by the off-season: KDF, and teams that are having tryouts, such as LSB and Nongshim.

It’s disappointing that our team didn’t have a chance to scrim against KDF because I believe T1 scrimmed against KDF for a week straight before the finals.

My point is that the level of performance is significantly better from a team that maintains its roster than teams that are having tryouts because the players on tryout teams are trying to prove that they are worthy of a spot in first-team.

To be honest, even Daenny will be memed for this words, this is a real problem long time known for anyone around scene. The week gap between Semis and Finals make very little sense, teams usually have almost no one to scrim, especially with a franchise era and cancellation of promotion series. SoloQ is already like 4 patches ahead. Players just losing their skills basically burning out in that last week, unless you are like T1 who played at home and have scrim partners
