I am so old that I already had Half-life for free this whole time.
I *think* from back when I preordered Half Life 2 on the relatively new ‘Steam’ platform, back when buying digital was a pretty new/weird/untested way of distributing games. It’s been awhile but I’m pretty sure a perk for buying it on Steam was they gave you the whole Valve back-catalogue with your purchase.
