Eagles (8-1) @ Chiefs (7-2)

NFC Standings right now:

Eagles (8-1)

Lions (8-2)

9r (7-3)

If Eagles lose they’re 8-2 like the Lions. But the fun rules in the NFL mean we would be in first place in the NFC, because we beat the Chiefs and they didn’t. (And because both teams beat Tampa)

So tonight I am a chiefs fan. I will put ketchup on my steak. I will do the stupid tomahawk salute. I’ll even listen to a Taylor Swift album. I want to see the Lions at the top of the NFC standings, I will suffer all these indignities if it will help. I’ll sell out to KC for one night only, I might even make red Koolaid.

Will you guys join me?

Everyone keeps saying this, it’s not true.

The 2nd step is in conference win loss PERCENTAGE. And since the season in ongoing those numbers can’t be calculated. We don’t know for sure how many games the team will play in a season (See Buffalo V Cincy a couple years ago).

So the next step is to view the records against like opponents, which CAN be calculated because we know which teams we and they have played.

    Is it a technicality? Absolutely!

Am I okay with that? Damn right!
