I’m just not having fun anymore. I spend all my day Sunday watching and agonizing over every game and constantly refreshing the app. I spend hours researching the best players and matchups just for Etienne to get benched for D’Ernest Johnson. It’s the randomness that kills me. I feel drained and I hate football now. How do you prevent this stuff from consuming you, especially after multiple losses in a row? It makes me question my intelligence and self-worth…

I’m thinking of taking a break from league. But if I leave they probably won’t let me back in… they’ve done something like that before to another player.

I just want to like football again.

Mods delete and laugh at me I f you want, but I’d be shocked if others didn’t feel this way and need some advice on it.

A lot of people in this sub are also that into fantasy football. It hurts when you have a passion for something and it doesn’t work out. You just need to let some of the pressure off. Is your league a big money league and that’s why you’re so invested or is it a for fun league with friends maybe giving you all that pressure. If it’s too much to handle, nobody will shame you for walking away and if they do they can go eat a dick.

I’m actually undefeated in my league this year and it’s been the most stressful fantasy year for me ever. At first it was fun but now it’s all about keeping the streak alive and every decision has a ton of pressure. So there’s even downsides to winning if you let it overtake you. My advice would be to maybe call it quits this year or set up your lineups way ahead like on Tuesdays and then don’t check your fantasy team till after the Monday game so it doesn’t weigh on your viewing enjoyment. Sounds tough but it’s something you’ll have to work on. This is similar to a gambling addiction or addiction to video games or anything else. When it gets to an unhealthy point you need to step away and reevaluate if it’s for you and how you can moderate it.
