i’ve started wearing a bit more makeup recently, but i today i noticed that it gets ruined pretty quickly to an unbelievable extent.

today i put on some heavy eye makeup & a very light base (but including primer and powder) at around 6 am. Keep in mind that i’m at school all day doing basically nothing (except a 30 minute walk during lunch break). At around 2:30 I look in a mirror and turns out i look as if i’d been mauled by a bunch of animals and somehow brought back to life… Like, no matter what you’re picturing, it probably looked even worse. Like, i don’t mean to make myself sound like some sort of crybaby, but i was genuinely on the brink of tears after seeing myself like that from the sheer embarrassment. I literally felt like I was going to throw up - it was that bad…

Anyway, I guess I just don’t understand how it’s possible for my makeup to get that obliterated in a matter of a few hours while doing nothing? It’s not like i was working out or anything and i’m not a naturally sweaty person… Plus I tend to buy makeup others recommend.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be the issue? :(

What makeup stays on you depends on the makeup brand/formula and your skin type.

My makeup will normally stay put completely but I also don’t like it to be heavy (typical of full coverage etc.) so it usually takes me a lot of trial and error before I find my go-to products.

There are some good staples for every product though, IMO, that generally work for most people. For example, for foundation, Estée Lauder Double Wear works for most. It may not be everyone’s favorite but staying in place won’t be the issue. For every product from primer to powder, there are staples like this.

So what melted away? Foundation? Eyeliner? Contour?
