Here’s the problem though. The team lost the Browns playoff game because Pouncey spotted the Browns 7 points on the opening snap and then Ben threw 3 picks in the first half. That is individual failure from the best players on the team and isn’t because of coaching.
Tomlin is like Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech - he overachieves with less, not underachieves with more. This fan base acts like we’ve wasted playoff caliber rosters the past 4 or 5 years when the reality is we haven’t had an offensive line, good QB, and reliable skill position players at the same time during any of that time period. The roster has been just as mid as the 9-8 records suggest.
No coach is winning multiple playoff games with Pickett, Rudolph, Duck, and an immobile washed up Big Ben behind a shit offensive line.
The criticisms of sticking with bad coordinators too long are valid but that’s really it. We have not had a balanced and top of the league roster on both sides of the ball since about 2012-2013.
