People aren’t fans if they are tired of Tomlin and not winning playoff games? And apparently it isn’t for his coaching abilities…it’s something else that we all know? Why don’t you tell us all because I have no idea wtf you are talking about with this bullshit post

    well you know

In the 12 seasons since his last Super Bowl appearance Tomlin’s only won 3 playoff games (21 other teams have managed at least 3 in that time frame). He’s gone one-and-done in 5 of his last 7 playoff appearances (most in humiliating fashion) and is 3/8 in his last 11 playoff games. The playoff wins aren’t anything to brag about either, he’s beaten the Dolphins with backup Matt Moore, the Alex Smith Chiefs and if it weren’t for a last second meltdown from Burfict and Pacman he would’ve lost to the Bengals with backup AJ McCarron.

His defenses have been outscored 171-117 in their last 4 playoff games and he’s 0/4 in that span. They’ve allowed 35+ points in 4 straight playoff games and 42+ points in 3 straight. NFL records.

He’s failed to win a playoff game for 6 straight seasons, tying the franchise’s longest drought in the Super Bowl era and he’s only won a playoff game in 4/16 seasons now.

Your non-argument is deader than dead. It’s been dead for years, dug up, lazily reanimated and killed again many times over.

He’s a player’s coach so I’m sure people would love to play for him. I love the guy, and he’s done a good job, but you can’t deny that he is super reluctant to hold people accountable and be the bad guy

I hate the lazy, passive aggressive race card playing.

I don’t hate Tomlin. I’m incredibly appreciative of his time here. So many awesome memories of the teams he’s led.

But that’s all ancient history as far as the NFL is concerned. He’s not getting results. His teams have been fading. His coordinators have been trash for years and he’s losing the team right now.

It’s just time for a change. CEOs rarely stay in their position for decades. What he’s done should lot be questioned. But that doesn’t mean change isn’t necessary.

Stop being a lazy, race baiting idiot.

Ya, because anyone who has a different opinion than you on a coach who happens to be black, HAS to be “racist”. Seriously, go away.

He has coached the team into mediocrity.

If AR II actually fired Canada, it shows that the owners are losing faith in his ability to manage the team.

We need new blood that will evolve with the changing NFL.

I was in a room full of non Pittsburgh people who were fans of various ones and I expressed my feelings of Mike Tomlin, and everyone single one said I’d take him in a heartbeat.

I am genuinely a Tomlin supporter. That being said? I think he should start out on the hot seat next year if nothing improves throughout the rest of this season.

If my last name was Rooney, I would give him until the end of next year. I would STRONGLY encourage him to bring in an experienced and innovative Offensive Coordinator for 2024.

The I would wait and see what happens.

I think he deserves a chance to right the ship, but my big worry is that he has lost the locker room by hanging onto Canada too long.

Would you care to explain the “well you know” comment? Most of the critiques I’ve seen are regarding his lack luster playoff performance for the last decade or so. Is there something wrong about pointing out he’s lost to blake bortles, baker mayfield and tim tebow in the playoffs, 2 of those games at home? Or is there some other mysterious reason that you know of that people want him gone? And please, back it up with factual evidence if possible.

Ready for downvotes, but the older I get the more I appreciate the off the field part of the game and Tomlin is unparalleled in pro sports as far as I can tell.

In a business where everyone’s leash is short, and where opportunities are harder to come by if you are of color, he finds a way to influence and change the sport and give everyone a fair chance to succeed. When Tomlin invests in a player or coach’s success as professionals and as humans, there’s no flinching or knee jerking or emotional roller coaster.

It can be infuriating as a fan at times, we will never understand what really goes on until he retires and his biography is written.

In life these things matter, even though folks are rightfully bitter after the browns loss.

The clown hasn’t won anything with a shit in 10+ years. He’s had multiple 1st round draft busts under his tenure. His coaching tree is abysmal. He allows Antonio brown to ruin the entire team culture for years. He never takes responsibility for things whenever they go wrong. He treats local media like crap whenever most of them should be way tougher questions.
