This is a common occurrence for me since I don’t have much time to play. I often get about halfway through and then stop playing for months. When I come back to it I always want to start from the beginning and then the cycle happens again.
One example for me is Fallout 4
Deus Ex Mankind Divided. I really like futuristic sci-fi games, and the previous deus ex was great. This one looks better and has similar gameplay, I really like it, but for whatever reason I just can’t complete it, I don’t even get to make the second mission and instead walk around praga, discovering things, but, I don’t know why, I always restart it again and again and again.
