I’m a 29F introvert managing a business, and I’ve worked on this for 5yrs+ without showing my face or meeting >85% of our customers, and quite frankly, much less than a dozen people have asked for any form of facial recognition. However, two of my mentors have recently told me at different times to consider putting a face to the brand. I respect them and hold their counsel dear; however, I do not see any reason why this is necessary. We’ve positioned ourselves well in our service-based industry and our results speak for themselves. I understand that we will need to do some things differently as we grow. But is this part of it? Or am I missing something here?
This makes sense, thank you! They do not need to know, but I’m aware some may want to know about who they give money to. We are in the gifts concierge space and so far, what has really mattered is competence and customer service.
Agree. Competence and service is key. On Etsy half my sales left a review and all have been 5 star. I’m a small orchard with specialty mangoes that I take a lot of pride in selling. I try to give value added by doing something’s different than the few other seller in this niche. I also have a YouTube to allow customers to see/connect with what I’m doing.
