I played some OW1 back then and just got back to the game. Played my placement matches and ranked Platinum 3.

I consider myself a Tank main and I can be quite flexible within this class, but It seems that the meta (at my rank) is usually roadhog, zarya or sigma (with some sprinkles of crazy flying doomfist)

I can deal with Zarya and Sigma quite well, but some Roadhogs seem to be immortal. I usually try to avoid them, specially if he is being pocket healed, but it seems like whenever I try to go directly at him, he doesn’t die. It’s worst if I have a team with stuff like Widow/Hanzo/Ashe/Sombra, then I’m left alone to brawl.

I sometimes try to mirror, which occasionally works, but most often than not, it doesn’t.

What annoys me the most is when some 3-8 dps with less damage than me starts typing stuff like “tank?”. I literally don’t know what to do: I’m getting kills, trying to open space, but with the wrong setup, there’s no way around it.

TLDR; how to counter Roadhog as a tank?

If he’s not grouped up, as a tank I’ll create space or damage to allow my team to get pics. I’ll usually face the hog while allowing my team to safely take out dps or support. If he IS grouped up, like on linear maps like Paraíso or Kings Row, then high damage outputs.

DVa can matrix anyone he pulls in. Sigma I can angle my shield for my team and I’ll save keneitc grasp for myself and rock him when he tries to heal. Zarya, save one bubble for a teammate while you’re playing passive until you’re able to get aggressive. Orisa is also great. I’ve gone Junker Queen if my team is able to hold their own.

As support, I’ll go Zen or Baptiste for high damage. Ana for anti or sleep. I dislike lifesaver but his life grip for saving someone who gets pulled. His thorns can do some damage too.

    Dps. Reaper. Sojourn. Bastion. Soldier.

Great summary! Will definitely take these into consideration next time! Thank you very much!
