I’ve seen two recent unranked to gms using mercy… and I wanna scream. They can sit there and almost essentially healbot the whole time, and get to masters/gm.

One guy is like ‘I get so many ultimates bc I’m healing so much’ as if her ult does anything. And even in ult they keep healing as if they think any damage is going to get their team killed.

Another was like ‘why would I trust someone else to do it when I can do it myself’. Like whatttt??? And these people can get high ranks???

Ofc they’re already high ranked and all they need is 50 wins to get into comp on a new account. They can play their main to get the wins, and in doing so it makes the game put them in higher lobbies. So when they start the ur2gm they are already diamond or higher.

I just… don’t get it. You have people like skiesti and niandra who are trying their best to inform people the best and most effect way to play mercy and then someone else can come along and just ride to gm for free by almost healbotting. It makes no sense.

Is there a problem with different people having different approaches to using a character ??? If they’re ranking up then what they’re doing is working? What’s wrong with player expression? I don’t like U2GM content but dang this is a strange thing to get riled up about

Damage boost let’s your dps get ults faster and is the only way she really can do damage herself without glocking. If you sit there and heal most of the time you’re taking ult charge from the other support (who has a better ult) and feeding ult charge to enemy supports and dps. It’s crazy how when you’re fundamentally playing the character backwards it somehow works.
