Personally I feel like Brent celek is the best one, although I could see the argument for Chad Lewis or even LJ Smith. Obviously Zack ertz is high up there maybe even number 1. And does Dallas goedert deserve to be in the conversation yet? What do y’all think?
Celek is not often in the conversation for best since he was not a pass catching specialist. He was your more traditional tight end who could block very well and also catch passes. He never made a Pro Bowl, but he was amazing. Celek is one of my favorite Eagles of all time.
When thinking of the best tight end of all time, you need to decide what determines that. Do you go with the current evaluations of tight ends, effectively large receivers, or do you go more traditional where they are blocking specialists who are good at catching.
Goedert is up there, would be higher if he could stay healthy, since he catches well and also blocks well.
