So I just felt like posting this comp that I saw here. BY has played 9 games so far and yes, it’s been tough. But it’s have a look at the numbers:
BY after 9 games of rookie season:
TD/Int: 9/8 Comp: 62.1% Passer rating: 74.7 W/L: 1/8
TL after 9 games of rookie season:
TD/Int: 8/9 Comp: 58% Passer rating: 72.1 W/L: 2/7
I wanted Howell too, practically cried out in pain when they announced Corral as the pick instead of Howell. But I don’t think Howell > Young. Howell has a terrible o-line like Young, but unlike Young he has a squad of speedy, high-separation young WRs. Look at the Cowboys game—they almost always gave Howell open men to throw to when under pressure. When I looked back at the Panthers tape, our dudes outside of Theilen were almost always covered. If we had all current circumstances the same but we also had WRs getting open but Bryce wasn’t finding them, then yes, he’s a bust. But we don’t have that. We just don’t know yet because dude hasn’t had an actual chance to prove anything.
